One of the widely - read literature in Malayalam. S. K. Pottekkad (1913 - 1982) was a teacher and resigned in 1939 to participate in the Tripura Congress from 1945, a full time man of letters.

He was member of Kerala Sahitya Akademi, Kendra Sahitya Akademi, Sahitya Parishad, Kerala Sahitya Samithi, Thunchan Smaraka Samithi & Kendra Kala Samithi.
